Color Project

Jan/2009 - Feb/2009

This foundation year project is based upon an original blue and orange tinted print by Joseph Albers completed during his years at the Bauhaus. The strategy for this piece involved using Albers' print as a plan from which to extrude various planes of orange and blue; the height of each being based upon the intensity of the hue in the original painting. The piece attempts to represent various gradients of blue and orange in multiple orthogonal directions in order to create a consistently undulating effect for the viewer.
